 Don’t miss this opportunity to join other Slow Food members and cook in the kitchen with Hank Shaw, author of award winning blog, “Hunter Angler Gardener Cook“. Hank Shaw is a man of Honest Food and lives all things that we support as members of the Slow Food movement-good clean and fair food. He hunts, forages, fishes, gardens and goes extremes to stay out of the grocery store and eat from the land. Hank has recently put out a new book titled, “Duck, Duck, Goose: Recipes and Techniques for Cooking Ducks and Geese, both Wild and Domesticated” and is currently on his book tour around the United States.

Slow Food WiSE has partnered with The Milwaukee Public Market to invite this man with remarkable talents and skills to cook in the kitchen with us on October 15th, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. During this cooking class at the Market, he plans to demonstrate how to break down a duck, bill to feet. He will explain everything you want to know about duck from cooking to storage and more!! The class will highlight his Duck Gumbo(pictured below) from the new cook book and we will have the chance taste it! At the end of the class there will be time for questions and a book signing as well. The class is $29.00 which includes the class itself, a cup of his gumbo, one beverage of choice and the option of an autograph. For $49.00 you may purchase all of this and a copy of his new cook book, saving you $5.00 off of the retail price of his book. Parking is free during all Public Market cooking classes and a cash bar will be available for purchase during the event.
