Slow Food Midwest Regional Meeting
Oct 11, 2013 - Oct 13, 2013
Join us in historic Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a regional gathering of Slow Food Chapter Leaders and Volunteers. Connect with fellow regional members, enhance leadership skills, and learn from each other as we share a weekend full of food and fun.
The weekend will include sessions on key Slow Food initiatives as unveiled at the National meeting last month as well as skill-building for Chapter leadership teams. We’ll be joined by leaders of SFUSA, and Regional Governors Joel Smith and Martha Davis Kipcak. A detailed schedule will follow as we get closer to the dates. On the registration page, please share any ideas you have for topics to be discussed.
Please reserve your place now for this exciting opportunity to learn together, and encourage your leadership team to join you.
The weekend events run from Friday, October 11 at 5 pm to Sunday, October 13 at noon. If you’d like to stay longer, there is an optional tour of Growing Power at 1 pm. (Visit their website for more information)
There is a $50 flat fee for each person that attends. This covers food and meeting expenses.
We have reserved the historic Newberry House for the weekend. A beautiful old mansion a few blocks from Lake Michigan. The mansion will serve as our meeting space, and also provides 8 bedrooms for up to 15 guests. The shared space offers an affordable option for those needing a place to stay. There are a variety of options available. The costs listed are per person and includes both nights. See the attached document for a visual of the rooms and prices. If you’d like to share a room with someone you know, please place your reservations together. Register soon to ensure your sleeping space in this special home.
