Join Steve Wallace, founder of Milwaukee’s own Omanhene Cocoa Bean Company, and Chef Karen Gill for an evening of tasting and learning about sustainable chocolate! Learn about how cocoa is grown and of Omanhene’s partnership with farmers in Ghana, while Chef Gill leads cooking demos and tastings of an all chocolate menu. Wine will be served with tastings. In this free this workshop, participants will discuss why youth gardening and garden-based education is important and will learn strategies to plan, design, and implement child-centered youth gardens for school, early childhood, and after-school sites. Participants will also review garden-based curriculum and share ideas for incorporating such lessons into the classroom. Open to educators and interested community members! Join John Holzwart (‘Little John’) for a 
comprehensive presentation explaining several approaches to grafting, 
followed by a demonstration and hands-on learning. Participants graft and take 
home two semi-dwarf fruit trees of your choice (apple, pear or plum). Root 
stocks and scionwood (fruit tree cuttings) provided. Additional plant 
materials will be available to purchase for grafting more trees at home.
