Learn the importance of preserving seed and our food crop heritage! Experts from Seed Savers Exchange will lead a lecture and a hands-on demonstration, covering both wet and dry seed saving techniques. Go home with the knowledge to start saving seed from your own garden!
Educators from Slow Food WISE will also share their Ark of Taste Project – a living catalog of delicious and distinctive foods facing extinction – and will discuss ways to access and grow these heirloom varieties in your garden!

Simple and gourmet mustards are easy to make and can for long-term storage. Join Master Preserver, Christina Ward to learn to create mustards and how to process them for long-term storage. This is a “hands-on” class! All participants will work together to prepare the mustards. All jars and supplies will be provided. Take home finished products.

Learn to make soap in your own kitchen. This hands-on class will introduce participants to the process of making old-fashioned soap, and will take the mystery out of soap making. Information will also be provided about herbs from the garden that can be added to soap. Participants will take home soap that we make in class as well as recipes for future soap making.

Shhh! Don’t tell the dogs it’s not Easter! Leashed dogs and their families hunt for dog treats and prizes on Wellspring’s 36 acres of trails, and natural habitat along the Milwaukee River. Games for dogs and families to play too!
