The Eat Local Resource Fair is an annual opportunity to celebrate local food. It offers tools, tips and ideas to take the Eat Local Challenge and to eat locally all year long.Meet & buy food directly from local vendors i…ncluding Angelic Bakehouse, Becky’s Bissful Bakery, The Noisy Kettle, Really goods, Stone Creeek Coffee and Top Note Tonics. Learn about foraging safety, ethics, and plant families. Collect, harvest, and taste wild edibles currently in season. After the foray, enjoy appetizers featuring plants found on the tour. Bring home what you collect as well as recipes and guides for future foraging!

Wellspring offers a series of monthly cooking classes, inspiring and teaching students how to use various veggies during peak season! In each class, a chef demonstrates recipes using the featured produce of the month and provides healthy cooking tips. Attendees enjoy tastings of each dish, with an accompanying glass of wine, and receive recipe handouts to take home. Highlighted seasonal produce for September is Kale!

Immerse yourself in a weekend workshop all about food preservation! Lead by Master Preserver Christina Ward, students will go home with the knowledge to start or expand upon their own food processing for long term storage. In this hands on workshop, students will work together, learning and creating several types of preserved foods to take home.
The workshop participants can elect to take the whole weekend workshop or individual days. The schedule for each day is listed below.

Tour participants will learn about all the systems and processes that work together on a diversified, organic veggie farm while walking the fields and, of course, sampling veggies in peak season!
