Slow Food Community Cooks: “Herbs in the Medicine Cabinet”

The Art and Science of Preserving: Tomatoes & Salsa

Nothing compares to the flavor of a homegrown tomato picked at the peak of season. Learn to capture that homegrown flavor in a jar. Students will make crushed tomatoes and zesty salsa learning safe canning practices that are easy to understand and apply again at home. This is a hands-on class. Participants will leave the lesson with a jar or 2 of their own canned-creations along with tip sheets, recipes and resources for preserving food at home.

Wellspring offers a series of monthly cooking classes, inspiring and teaching students how to use various veggies during peak season!
