It’s Garden-Building Time

It’s Garden-Building Time

The nation’s largest garden-building event is almost here, and it’s not too late to order a raised garden bed for your backyard or school. Between May 13 and 27, the Great Milwaukee Victory Garden Blitz will take place in Milwaukee and surrounding areas. Each year, more than 300 Victory Garden Initiative volunteers deliver and build raised garden beds in backyards, schoolyards, community centers, and places of worship.

VGI builds hundreds of gardens in the Milwaukee area.

VGI builds hundreds of gardens in the Milwaukee area.

Here’s how it works.

  • Order a bed.
  • Pay for the bed.
  • Volunteers call you the morning of delivery
    (between May 13 and 27).
  • Volunteers come build your garden bed.
  • Volunteers fill your bed with soil.
  • You plant seeds and watch them grow!

And hey, if you’re not busy in May, consider joining the Victory Garden Initiative team of volunteers. Laugh, connect, build, meet new and amazing people, and play in the dirt.
